    The Good Earth Farm Gravel Ride

  • 100K or 50K ride on the gravel roads of South East South Dakota.

    This is a gravel ride that starts where it ends — right here on our 25-acre working farm, 20 minutes south of Sioux Falls. You'll roll out through the wide open roads of Turner and Lincoln counties, through small towns and along the Big Sioux River, on some of the best gravel southeastern South Dakota has to offer. Then you'll come back and eat pizza, drink beer, and collect your prizes with everyone else who made it.

    Race it if you want. Ride it if you'd rather. Either way, you belong here.

    Both distances start and finish at The Good Earth Farm at 9 AM.

    50K
    Roughly 31 miles on quiet gravel and rural roads. A solid challenge with beautiful scenery — a great distance if you're newer to gravel or want a faster morning out.

    100K
    Approximately 62 miles — 90% gravel, 4 miles of pavement, ½ mile of grass, and 4 miles of level B roads. The route winds through Lennox, Chancellor, Swan Lake, Viborg, and Davis before bringing you home. Water will be available at multiple points along the route, and a support vehicle will be on course if you need a hand.

    You'll earn it. And then you'll enjoy it.

    Cross the finish line and head straight into a party on the farm — cold beer, wood-fired pizza, and prizes. The barn is open, the farm is alive, and there's no rush to get anywhere. Stick around as long as you want.

    Questions

    What kind of bike do I need?
    A gravel bike is ideal, but a cyclocross or mountain bike works fine. Road bikes aren't recommended — the level B roads are rough.

    Is there support on the course?
    Yes. Water will be available at multiple points, and a support vehicle will be on the route if you need a pickup.

    Can I camp at the farm?
    Yes—just send us an email at nancy@thegoodearth.us

    What's included with my registration?
    Your registration gets you on the course. Beer, pizza, and the finish line party are all part of the experience at The Good Earth Farm.

    Is this a race?
    It's whatever you want it to be. We will time the race for those who want to compete, but plenty of riders come just to enjoy the roads and the farm.

    What if there's bad weather?
    This is a rain or shine event. In the case of severe weather, we'll communicate updates via email and social media.
